Hello again,
With apologies for cross-posting....

The State Library of Oregon is still accepting nominations for our volunteer Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Advisory Council<https://www.oregon.gov/Library/libraries/Pages/lstaac.aspx>! Nominations will be accepted using this form through this Friday, October 9, 2020: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/lstaac2021

We are looking to fill the following positions for the 13-member council:

* Library Users Representative (1 position)

*        Representative serving Underserved & Under-represented Persons (1 position)

* Public Libraries Representative (1 position)

* School Libraries Representative (1 position)

About the LSTA Advisory Council:
Council members to serve a 3-year volunteer term to help advise the State Library Board on Oregon's Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Program<https://www.oregon.gov/library/libraries/Pages/LSTA.aspx>. The LSTA Program is federally funded by the IMLS and (with the exception of Ready to Read grants to public libraries) essentially encompasses all of the work of the Library Support & Development Services division at the State Library (including Competitive Grants, consulting services, statistics, Statewide Projects like Answerland, Statewide Databases, etc.). The State Library will be coordinating an evaluation of the LSTA program later in 2021, and the incoming Council members will play a role in that process as well as in helping shape the next LSTA 5-Year Plan (for FFY 2023-2027).

The Council also reviews project proposals and reports (including our annual LSTA Competitive Grants), makes recommendations to the Board, and advises the Board about any issues concerning Oregon's LSTA program. The LSTA Advisory Council consists of thirteen members and is broadly representative of library entities in Oregon, including public, school, academic, and special libraries, as well as library users. The State Library Board will appoint new Advisory Council members in November, and new members' terms will begin January 1, 2021. Terms for these positions will run through December 31, 2023.

The Council has recently transitioned to meeting virtually via Zoom, and we'll aim to have 3-4 public meetings a year (one of which may be an in-person meeting eventually, when it is safe to do so). Travel costs to/from Council meetings will be covered by the State Library.
