The State Library of Oregon is currently accepting nominations for the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) Advisory Council<https://www.oregon.gov/library/libraries/Pages/lstaac.aspx>!

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

The LSTA Advisory Council is appointed by the State Library Board to advise the Board on matters concerning the administration of LSTA funding and support for Oregon libraries, as allotted to Oregon by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

The Council consists of thirteen members and is broadly representative of library entities in Oregon, including public, school, academic, and special libraries. Special consideration is given to ensure that geographic areas of our state are represented by the Council, as are library users and representatives of underserved / under-represented persons.

The Council typically meets twice a year, in the spring and fall, online. An additional one or two meetings may be held each year as needed.

OPEN POSITIONS

We would like to fill the following positions:

  * Academic Libraries Representative (1 position)
  * Information Technology Representative (1 position)
  * Library Users Representative (2 positions)
  * Public Libraries Representative (1 position)
  *   Representative for Underserved / Under-represented Persons (1 position)

Terms are for three years, beginning on January 1, 2023 and ending on December 31, 2025. There is one exception this year: one of the Library Users Representative positions is filling a vacancy, so the term will only last one year (ending December 31, 2023).

NOMINATION PROCESS

To nominate, complete this form<https://www.cognitoforms.com/StateLibraryOfOregon/_2022LibraryServicesAndTechnologyActLSTAAdvisoryCouncilNominations> by August 31, 2022.

It is fine to nominate yourself or someone else you feel would be a good candidate.

Nominations will be reviewed, and potential candidates identified, by the State Librarian and Library Support and Development Services Program Manager, in consultant with staff. State Library Board members will appoint new LSTA Council members.
