Thanks Heidi @ University of Portland for answering this question!

Her note:
I searched Google Books for [illustrations commedia columbine OR colombine OR columbina OR colombina] and found a book that seems promising, _Harlequin Unmasked: The Commedia Dell'arte and Porcelain Sculpture_ (http://www.worldcat.org/title/harlequin-unmasked-the-commedia-dellarte-and-porcelain-sculpture/oclc/484074097). Portland State University has a copy. The subject heading "Commedia dell'arte in art" led me to _Harlequin on the moon : commedia dell'arte and the visual arts_, which has the status "available" at Multnomah County Central (704.949 L418h 1998). the description says "[The author] traces all these threads, unearthing rare texts of commedia plays, discovering myriad versions of the ever-fascinating Harlequin, Pierrot, Columbine, and Pulcinella...."
