All,

For those of you who attended last October's plug load workshop hosted by ODOE and DAS, you hopefully came away with several ideas for how to manage your agency's plug loads. One of the tools presented at the workshop was an advanced plug strip that will power off devices using a master device (such as a computer going into sleep mode). Energy Trust of Oregon (ETO) was providing rebates for these devices, but the rebate expired at the end of 2019.

We have been in discussions with Nikki Burton at ETO, and they are willing to offer a custom plug load incentive to state agencies. This would entail a free ETO assessment of your agency's plug loads and recommendations for deploying plug strips and other plug load management measures to reduce your electricity bills. The report would also include estimated cost savings and payback, as well as a rebate for the plug strips. The assessments would be done on a building-by-building basis.

This is a great opportunity for your agency to get some specific directions - and incentives - for implementing the Statewide Plug Load Strategy developed for Executive Order 17-20.

If you are interested and you are attending the January 27th Earthwise recognition event at ODOE, Nikki from ETO will be on hand to answer questions you may have about this incentive opportunity. I encourage you to come, express your interest and get your questions answered.

If you are not attending the Earthwise event, simply let me know of your interest with an email. We will schedule a follow-up call with Nikki to give you an overview of the incentive and the process for participating.

I'm happy to help answer any questions too.

Thank you,

Dave
