Dear ISCN Members:

Dave Wortman is no longer employed by DAS; his last day was May 8th.  I can share this happened rather quickly and it was very difficult for Dave, and for DAS.  He brought tremendous leadership and energy to his position, and our agency.

Sudden transitions are inherently unsettling and can obscure certainty that bases are covered. I want to assure you DAS' commitment will not waiver and Oregon's sustainability posture remains the same.  And we want to move forward and stabilize this program as quickly as possible.

The plan is twofold:  (1) We plan to appoint an interim Statewide Sustainability Officer in the coming weeks to ensure we don't lose ground implementing the work.  And (2) we will launch recruitment for the permanent appointment mid-summer after the Legislative Session is over.  Ideally, we will have that position filled, onboard early fall 2025.

The 6/4 ISCN Meeting has been cancelled, and  we will reconvince in August.  I am working with our IT folks to try and get this calendar invite removed from people's calendars. Once that has happened a new series will be issued from my calendar. You can feel free to cancel this series on your own.  Please reach out if you have any questions.
