I just received the following promotional email about a program for the 2014 summer reading theme in mind. I thought some of you may be interested. This is not an endorsement. Please remember to select performers according to your library's policies and to make sure it is appropriate for your library and community.

Subject: Fizz, Boom, Read! Mad Science for your summer reading program

Hello Katie,

We are looking forward to an exciting summer reading program in 2014 all about science. It is a great opportunity to expose children to some exciting S.T.E.M. (Science Technology, Engineering & Math) learning in true engaging Mad Science fashion. I have sent this email to many libraries, but feel free to forward it to anyone who might be interested.

We have several science shows that will fit perfectly into the 2014 theme: Fizz, Boom, Read!

Our 30 minute show is $299.95 and the 45 minute show is $339.95. (Additional travel fees will apply)

These prices include science bookmarks and a hard bound copy of the Time Big Book of Science Experiments for your library.

ANY of these EXCITING science shows can be focused on the grade-school age theme: Fizz, Boom, Read!

What Do You Know About H2O? (Needs Electricity, can be done outside)
Did you know that of the vast amount of water on our planet, only 1% is fresh and drinkable? Did you know that a silent toilet leak can waste up to 7,000 gallons of water per month? Come and shake it up with the Mad Scientist as you learn all about the amazing attributes of water while focusing on the importance of conserving this precious resource!

Fire and Ice (Must be done inside)
The land of Fire and Ice is filled with dazzling demonstrations using fire, bubbling potions, and carbon dioxide gas frozen to 109°F below zero. This science show will stimulate a child's mind and spark their imaginations as they experience exciting, educational, high energy science magic! Come and see just how HOT & COOL science can be!

Up, Up and Away (Must be done inside)
Let our Mad Scientist teach you about the many uses of that much misunderstood state of matter, gas. Enjoy a Mad Science magic trick and get ready to be dazzled by a series of experiments that feature the awesome power of gas: Air, hot air, air pressure, moving air, smoke and suction are all up for demonstration. Come and let science "float your boat!"

Spin! Pop! Boom! (Can be done outside)
How do you know that a chemical reaction has occurred? Start with a change of color in our chemically challenging "magic" trick. Move on to an assortment of experiments featuring both chemical and physical changes. Watch in awe as the Mad Scientist creates numerous versions of erupting science! Everything is guaranteed to be amazing!

Energy To Share best for older kids (Must be done inside)
This program is an electrifying half-hour of fast-facts and quick tips on using and conserving electrical energy. The "Energy to Share" Assembly will help educate your students on how electricity gets to our homes, sources of renewable energy, sources of non-renewable energy, easy conservation steps for students.

Dig Into Reading (Needs Electricity, but can be done outside)
This program was developed for the 2012 summer reading theme. It incorporated all things underground. Designed to get kids excited about the science that happens underneath the ground! From the layers of the earth to the critters that live in the soil to natural phenomena that occur underground, we are going to discover some amazing things if we dig deep!

Where's the Water Watson? best for younger kids (Needs Electricity, but can be done outside)
Join our Mad Scientist and his detective assistant Watson the flea to explore the unique and magical attributes using the water cycle. Telling the water cycle story using music, interactive engagement, visual imagery and repetition will both entertain and educate our youngest audiences. From Evaporation to Condensation, to Precipitation, to Collection and back to Evaporation... experience the cycle right there on stage!
