Hi everyone,
I wanted to make sure to share a great series by Angie Manfredi of Los Alamos Public Library (NM). Last year her team took the plunge to completely redo their Summer Reading program. Regretfully, the last two posts were JUST posted this week so it might be too late to consider this year; but her inspired, elaborate posts are too good not to share.
Passive programs/making "coming to the library" its own incentive: http://fatgirlreading.com/re-vamping-summer-reading-part-one-passive-programs/
Tracking goals: http://fatgirlreading.com/re-vamping-summer-reading-part-two-those-darn-prizes/
"Super Action Play Packs" as prizes: http://fatgirlreading.com/re-vamping-summer-reading-part-three-super-action-playpacks/ (this can be too big of an investment for some libraries; in that case, I can personally attest that activities featured in Part One are enough reward for a lot of kids)
Have a great day,
Bryce
