[kids-lib] Deschutes Mock Caldecott

Library staff at Deschutes Public Library held a lively discussion this morning to select "the most distinguished" illustrations of the year.  It was fun and eye-opening!  Here are the results of our vote:

Winner:
If You Plant a Seed, written and illustrated by Kadir Nelson

Honor Books:
Hiawatha and the Peacemaker, written by Robbie Robertson and illustrated by David Shannon
Waiting, written and illustrated by Kevin Henkes

We look forward to hearing the announcement very early Monday morning.
