*         Online registration will close at midnight on May 12; registration is also available at the event on May 16.

*         English to Spanish translation is available for the keynote address and select workshops; just indicate interest during registration to reserve your headset.

2016 Oregon Parenting Educators Conference

When:            Monday, May 16th

Where:          CH2M Hill Alumni and LaSells Stewart Centers, Oregon State University

What:  A professional development opportunity for parenting educators and other professionals working with children and families. Participants can choose from 28 workshops offered during the day! The schedule of workshops and their descriptions is attached, along with a conference flyer to post and share. Keynote:  Ellen Galinsky
[cid:image006.jpg at 01D1A9CA.6505EC70]Ellen Galinsky, President and Co-Founder of Families and Worker Institute (FWI) will be joining us as the keynote speaker for the 2016 Oregon Parenting Educators Conference. Ellen helped establish the field of work and family life during the time she was at Bank Street College of Education, where she was on the faculty for 25 years. Her more than 100 books and reports include the best-selling Mind in the Making: The Seven Essential Life Skills Every Child Needs, Ask the Children, and the now class The Six Stages of Parenthood. She has published over 300 articles in journals, books, and magazines.
Ellen's keynote presentation will be focused on Mind in the Making (MITM) which has gone beyond a book, becoming a national educational movement. MITM is now a national initiative to share scientifically based research and applicable strategies for promoting life skills in communities across the country.
