I want to thank everyone for your responses. We have filled the holes in our panel with some excellent people. I look forward to seeing you all at our session and sharing your stories.

Subject: OLA panel speakers wanted

Hi Everyone,
Lauren Simon and I have gotten the go ahead to do an amazing presentation at OLA in April. Please read below for more details. Specifically we are looking for an Adult Services programmer, Children (early literacy) programmer, a Support staff member, and someone who lives in rural (Central or Easter) Oregon to be a part of this fabulous panel. The deadline to be a part of this is Wednesday, November 23rd at 6pm (before the turkey/tofurkey coma hits).
Description:
We are looking for a number of panels to participate in the OLA Conference Panel "Failures, Flops, and F*ck-Ups: What we did and what we learned." We would like to talk about mistakes we've made in our jobs as librarians and library staff, what we've learned and how the audience can avoid some of the same pitfalls. We'd like it to be a fun, lively, diverse panel sharing about their experiences, lessons learned, or current challenges.
Time Commitment: Attending the OLA conference for a 90-minute panel presentation from April 19th-21st (TBD) a few hours to prep for the conference proposal, especially in the months leading up to the conference. Ability to answer email and perhaps a few meetings via phone/video or in person if located in the Portland metro area.
Preferences:
Currently, we have a member of OYAN, Outreach Round Table, and Reforma Oregon. We are hoping to recruit a few other participants including, but not limited to:

*        A member of children's services division or a children's librarian

* Adult services librarian or program specialist

* Rural library services or librarians from central, eastern, southern Oregon or the coast

*        Library support staff
If interested, please email Aimee at ameuchel at ci.tualatin.or.us. Tell us a little bit about yourself, your experience in libraries and why you're interested in participating in the panel.
Thanks for considering. It should be lots of fun. Please forward this to anyone you think might be awesome!
Aimee
