[kids-lib] 2016 Oregon data for grants, program justification, and advocacy

Children First for Oregon just published the 2016 County Data Book<http://www.cffo.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/2016-County-Data-Book.pdf>. This is an excellent source for statistics on Oregon youth from birth through high school related to early education, youth development, math and literacy (English language arts) proficiency levels for 3rd and 8th graders, and much more. This data is good to use when justifying library programs, advocating for library support, and writing grants. The first 29 pages cover statewide data. Starting at page 30 there is one page for each county, county pages are in alphabetic order. This allows you to compare your county's data with other Oregon counties and statewide data.

If you want education data specific to the schools in your library's service area, then use The Oregonian's Your Schools: Test Scores, Federal Ratings, and More<http://schools.oregonlive.com/> webpage.
