Subject: [Libs-Or] OLA Legislative day is coming up and we would like a few more book donations
Nan, our lobbyist says that we are very popular with the legislators. We have a table full of books that legislators can choose to donate to their local library.
The wonderful Katie Anderson just weeded the books that we have and she suggested the following:
They are selecting a book that will have their name it and that will be publically accessible so they are going to be pretty careful. They are definitely looking for books in new or like new condition. They are most likely looking for a book…
• They know and love
• By an author they know is popular
• They can evaluate in a minute or two just by flipping through it
• They know is about a topic popular with kids, parents, and/or teachers
As I was weeding, I kept asking myself, “Would a government official choose this book to put their name on and give it as a gift to a public institution?”
We need about 20 more books. Contact me about donating. ( Or You can attend and bring them then)
Jane
