Hi everyone –
Sorry it didn’t work out to hold the Oregon Mock Caldecott this year. If you need a Caldecott fix, consider watching the ALA Youth Media Awards event<http://www.ala.org/news/mediapresscenter/presskits/youthmediaawards/alayouthmediaawards> on Monday, January 23 at 8 a.m. ET. It will be lived streamed (yes, I realize that would be 5 a.m. our time – here’s hoping the video will be available for later viewing). We may even spot our own Martín Blasco (WCCLS employee) who is a member of the Caldecott Committee. He is currently sequestered behind closed doors in Atlanta with the other committee members deliberating this year’s selection. Go Martín!

Subject: [kids-lib] CANCELLED - Mock Caldecott
Hi, all,
I'm sorry to report that we've had many cancellations for the Mock Caldecott as people realized they couldn't make it to the rescheduled date, so we're cancelling the workshop completely. I thank you all for hanging in with us as we dealt with weather concerns and rescheduling, and I'm sorry we couldn't make it happen this year (boo to ice and snowstorms!).
But all is not lost! Tomorrow we'll be posting a simple poll on the CSD website<http://www.csdola.org/>, the CSD Facebook<https://www.facebook.com/csdola/> page (like that page for regular kid-lit related updates and cool info), and I'll be sending it out on the kidslib and oasl listservs, as well. One the poll is posted, please add your vote to that quick and dirty method of picking an Oregon medal and possibly honor books, and I look forward to book discussions with you in the future!
