Please pardon the cross-posting.
Hi,
For two of the databases available through the statewide database contract, Gale is able to provide MARC records that you can add to your library catalog. Doing so provides additional discovery and access points for the eBooks.
The MARC records for the eBooks in Gale Virtual Reference Library (GVRL) and National Geographic Kids (NGK) are available for download from the Resource Links/URLs page<http://galesupport.com/oregon/lookup.php> of the Gale support site for Oregon library staff. Enter your public, academic, or tribal library's name and scroll down a bit on the page that pops up to find the MARC records information. School library staff should follow the directions in the archived OSLIST announcement<http://oslis.org/oslissupport/announcements/july-2016-june-2017/march-9-2017>.
For GVRL, you can download all of the MARC records or choose sets by audience level. There's also a file with just the new-to-us science eBooks<http://oslis.org/oslissupport/announcements/july-2016-june-2017/september-26-2016> aimed mostly at elementary students. Also, a State Library web page<http://www.oregon.gov/osl/LD/Pages/technology/sdlp/GVRLtitles.aspx> has a spreadsheet that lists all of the titles available through our statewide instance of GVRL.
For National Geographic Kids, there is the option to download all of the records.
If you have questions about how to access the MARC records, please reach out to the Gale contact listed at the very bottom of the page.
Please share this with the appropriate person in your library.
Thanks,
Jen
