[kids-lib] Reminder: Webinars about Books & Authors and LitFinder on 1/16 or 1/29

As you probably know, with last summer's new statewide database contract with Gale, we gained access to two new databases<https://libguides.osl.state.or.us/c.php?g=464081&p=6207584>.

[cid:image004.png at 01D4ACDF.58BBE3A0]Books & Authors<https://www.gale.com/c/books-and-authors> is a reader's advisory tool that includes plot summaries, reading recommendations for similar titles, and searchable information on genres, characters, subjects, and time periods. It leverages Gale's award-winning What Do I Read Next? collection and is ideal for students, reading groups, and book clubs.



[cid:image005.png at 01D4ACDF.58BBE3A0]LitFinder<https://www.gale.com/c/litfinder> provides access to a broad span of literary works and secondary-source materials covering world literature and authors throughout history. It includes more than 150,000 full-text poems and over 800,000 poetry citations, as well as short stories, speeches, and plays. The resource also includes biographies, work summaries, photographs, and a glossary. Users can browse works by thousands of subjects, themes, genres, and movements.

This month there will be two free webinars about the new databases. They are specifically for Oregon library staff, classroom teachers, and other interested educators and will be led by the excellent Gale trainer, Stacey Knibloe. Besides library staff, those who teach English language arts might be especially interested.
