Hello everyone,

We made it through another week! I visited many of you pre-pandemic and so appreciated the chance to see you all in your element and get to know your spaces, staff, and communities a little bit. I am so very grateful to have started visiting libraries in person again. I recently visited the Willamina library during a kindergarten field trip and it was so awesome to see kids getting to know their library staff, explore what the library has to offer, and laugh at a funny story together. It was also a great opportunity to talk about their Teen Internship Grant and meet their summer teen intern, as well as see their new book bike, which happened because of ARPA funding. I'll be heading out in July down to the South Coast and hope to see a few of you then. I'm starting back up with libraries I haven't visited yet, so if I've already been over, please know I'll get back your direction at some point! Many of you know my colleague Ross, he's also planning some visits this summer, heading east. We're still figuring out how all of us in Library Support will get back out to you for visits so thanks for being patient with us as we plan/coordinate.

There's a LOT to shoutout this week! Summer Reading has started<https://pamplinmedia.com/msp/131-features/547642-438244-library-launches-summer-reading-program> for many of you - thank you for your continued work in still bizarre conditions sometimes to keep kids reading in the summer and for celebrating, too<https://www.thenewsguard.com/community/newport-public-library-children-s-department-ribbon-cutting-on-june-1/article_2ab80b4c-dba1-11ec-a4c4-c7dff230bb64.html>! Summer reading can feel sometimes like that's all there is but we know there's still a lot of other things happening - check out this awesome highlight of Salem teens<https://www.salemreporter.com/posts/6724/salem-teens-invite-visitors-to-take-what-you-need-from-library> who want to be community helpers. A lot of tough things are still happening in our world, but a lot of good, too.

Take care this weekend.

Best,
Greta
