[kids-lib] Shoutout Friday March 4th

Hi everyone,

There's a lot still happening in the world. I know many of you are thinking through how the new mask guidance will impact library services next week and beyond. I hope you are taking good care as you anticipate moving forward.

I have two shoutouts today:  1) Siletz is one of 42 libraries<https://www.thenewsguard.com/news/siletz-public-library-receives-children-s-book-project-grant-award/article_c6a7114a-903f-11ec-9123-bbcd24070da8.html> across the US receiving a grant from the Pilcrow Foundation. They've added new titles and depth to their picture and board book collections - what a great way to refresh this collection! And 2) Baker's celebrating March Madness<https://www.bakercityherald.com/news/local/march-madness-books-not-hoops/article_db1100e4-9a32-11ec-bf7a-23cd36178975.html> with middle grade reads. I fully support celebrating both the basketball side (I'm betting it all on the KU Jayhawks this year!) and the reading side of March Madness. I'm sure others of you have book brackets as well, I appreciate you are still bringing joy and fun to your communities as we wait for spring to start.
