Hi,
The annual OASL Fall Conference is for classified and licensed school library staff and anyone else who is interested. I've been told by non-school library staff who attended in the past that they learned new skills from tech sessions, appreciated getting a better understanding of school library issues, and more. See the email below for information about this year's event, and check OASL's Fall Conferences webpage<https://ola.memberclicks.net/oasl-conferences> for updates.
Thanks,
Jen

Subject: [oasl-all] OASL Fall Conference 2023, Save the Date!
Hello All,
Please mark your calendars for Friday, October 13th and Saturday, October 14th for our annual Oregon Association of School Libraries Fall Conference! We'll be meeting at Taft High School in beautiful Lincoln City on the Oregon Coast. The theme is Literacy's Liferaft, which our school libraries represent for communities across the state. Sessions will include professional development around Chat GPT/AI in libraries, reading engagement, intellectual freedom and book bans, book repair and so much more! Authors include some exciting names in YA, middle grade, and picture books (details to come) and the sitting president of the American Association of School Libraries, Courtney Pentland, plans to join us! This is also a wonderful chance to connect with some of our favorite library vendors. We hope to have amazing school library staff representation from across the state in attendance! Please contact conference chair Sarah Reames<mailto:Sarah.Reames at medford.k12.or.us> to volunteer. A call for session proposals will be shared soon.
