ALA Files Comments to FCC on Three Telecom Issues


The American Library Association (ALA) recently filed comments with the
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in relation to several key
telecommunications policy issues and how they relate to  America's

*	ALA shared the perspective of the library community on
deployment of broadband to public libraries. Our comments can be found
at the FCC's website
cument=6519411688> . Also, several member libraries filed reply comments
with the FCC to share their own perspective, and we thank them for their
time. If you are interested in reading the comments of other libraries,
simply search through the FCC Electronic Comment Filing System (ECFS) by
clicking here <http://gullfoss2.fcc.gov/prod/ecfs/comsrch_v2.cgi>  and
searching for proceeding number "07-45."

*	The FCC collects data on subscriptions to broadband services. In
a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking, the FCC sought comment on how to
collect better data. ALA's response can be found here

*	Finally, regarding net neutrality, the FCC sought information on
current industry practices in proceeding #07-52. ALA's comments focused
on ensuring that the Internet remains an open environment and those
