FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
 
 
The Oregon State Library Board of Trustees will meet in Room 102 at the State Library on Friday, October 17, 2008. M. Yvonne Williams of Portland will chair the meeting, which will begin at 9:30 a.m. 
 
The Board will conduct the State Librarian's annual performance evaluation and will hear recommendations from the Library Services Act Advisory Council about grant awards for 2009.  The Board will also consider recommendations from the Talking Book and Braille Services Advisory Council, deliberate on the Library's Affirmative Action Plan for 2009-11, and conduct the annual review of agency head financial transactions.
 
An open forum will be held at approximately 1:30 p. m.  Any member of the public may address the Board on any topic during the open forum.
 
Sign language interpretation will be provided for the public if requested prior to 48 hours before the meeting; notice prior to 72 hours before the meeting is preferred.  Handouts of meeting materials may also be requested in alternate formats prior to 72 hours before the meeting.  Requests may be made to April Baker at 503/378-2464.
