Hello, from the Oregon Encyclopedia!

We are so pleased to introduce you to the first edition of The Oregon  
Notebook, our quarterly newsletter. In it, you will learn more about  
the Encyclopedia's progress and its growing influence on the Internet  
as a free and authoritative public history resource.

Also, visit our newly designed Web site and browse more than 350  
entries on the people, places, events, and institutions that define  
the history and culture of our state.

Please join Carl Abbott, Kay Atwood, and David Sarasohn on the pages  
of the Oregon Encyclopedia by suggesting a topic, writing an entry, or
