The UO Libraries' Document Center announces an improved and expanded
edition of its /American Policy Directory/
<http://libweb.uoregon.edu/govdocs/apd.html>. The APD is a directory of
websites for the most prominent policy voices in US civil society: 400
think tanks, public interest groups, and policy organizations
representing a full spectrum of non-governmental groups that examine and
influence American public policy. The organizations are grouped into 20
thematic categories such as Environment, Information Policy, and Health
& Nutrition. Each category is equipped with a Google custom search bar,
which permits you and your patrons to search all organizations in that
category simultaneously. (Hint: for a vigorous workout, search any
category using the word “stimulus”.) The directory has now been enlarged
by the inclusion of the organizations listed in /Organizations that Rate
Members of Congress on their Voting Records/, produced by the
Congressional Research Service. Thanks to Risa Bear and Joshua Kielas
for their contributions to this resource.

A related resource, the /Oregon Policy Directory
</http://libweb.uoregon.edu/govdocs/opd.html>, includes over 450
organizations with a specific interest in public policy in Oregon.
