Hi, all. May I ask a favor?

The Science Commons Symposium - Pacific Northwest takes place one week from tomorrow. We have quite a few librarians coming. Now we need to make sure that they have plenty of scientists and technologists to talk to!

Therefore, would you please forward the announcement below to any scientists, engineers, technologists, science educators, and medical, nursing, pharmacy and public health faculty members you think might be interested in the Symposium?

Thank you for your trouble.

Hope Leman

Attention all those interested in new modes of scientific communication, research and publishing:

The conference is international in scope and features several of the most important figures in the areas of online science and Open Research.

The gathering is intended for medical, science and academic librarians, scientists, science educators, information scientists and technologists who are creating new modes of scientific communication or interested in learning about them.

Leaders in the areas of copyright and Open Access such as John Wilbanks and Heather Joseph of SPARC, the Scholarly Publishing and Academic Resources Coalition are speaking. Major figures in the field of Open Science such as Peter Binfield – Publisher of PLoS ONE, Antony Williams of ChemSpider, and Stephen Friend - Founder and President of Sage, a non-profit research organization transforming how researchers approach the treatment of disease, will give presentations.

Thank you for your consideration.
