Hello! I just received notification that Oregon Humanities is now accepting Letters of Interest for the 2012 Public Programs Grants. Letters of Interest must be post-marked October 31, 2011. Detailed information about the grant, grant guidelines, and how to apply are online at: http://oregonhumanities.org/programs/section/grants/#id22

Grants are between $1,000 and $10,000. Past projects have included:

*         Reading and discussion groups

*         Lectures and readings

*         Community conversations

*         Discussions before/after performances

* Public programs related to film and radio projects

*         Public conferences

"APPLICANT/CO-APPLICANT ORGANIZATION: All Oregon Humanities grants must be administered by a nonprofit organization or institution in Oregon. Organizations may not apply if a final report from an earlier grant has not been completed, or for more than one grant per cycle. Co-applicant organizations assume cost-sharing responsibilities for the program (revenue and/or expenses). Colleges or universities must contact Oregon Humanities prior to initiating a grant proposal in order to determine the program's eligibility and the institution's appropriate signatory. Organizations applying using a fiscal sponsor must also contact Oregon Humanities prior to initiating a grant proposal."
