Attending OLA this year? Looking for a reason to stay for the Friday afternoon sessions? Then any not come to "When the Heart of Things Closes: Community Reactions to Times of No Libraries".
Three accidental experts in library closures - Amy Blossom of Jackson County Library Services, Kate Lasky of Josephine Community Libraries, and Buzzy Nielsen of Hood River County Library District - will speak to their communities experiences. Why did their libraries close? What did the communities do while they were closed? How did they reopen? And what is their future? Come learn about these three compelling and very different stories.
This session is not just for those of you with funding issues. The session will address how the libraries had to re-learn how to connect with their communities, and the different types of library structures necessary to serve them.
So please come! Friday, April 27th, 2-4p.
Cheers!
Buzzy
