OSU-Cascades is seeking applicants to fill a fulltime, 12 month library faculty position. We anticipate hiring at the Instructor level. Ideally, the successful candidate will be available for appointment effective June 2012. The person who fills this position will be assigned to work at Oregon State University-Cascades, located in Bend, Oregon. The duties of this position include teaching, research, and service to the university and profession. In alignment with the OSU Libraries Instruction Program, the OSU-Cascades Instruction Librarian develops and delivers library programs and services to the OSU-Cascades community and degree programs, teaches information literacy concepts and skills, and builds liaison relationships with OSU-Cascades faculty. Research activities are expected to result in publications which advance knowledge or improve practice related to Library and Information Sciences. Service activities include participation in the Cascades Campus and professional societies. Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications. Employee benefits are competitive.

Work hours: Schedule may vary to accommodate department needs. Salary: $11.45/hour. Minimum qualifications: High school graduate/GED -AND- Six months of full time equivalent library or media experience -AND- One year experience using a Windows based computer system.

The Scappoose Public Library District is accepting resumes for a Part-Time Library Children's Services Technician. This position is 32 hours per week and includes day, evening, and weekend hours. Primary duties include developing, implementing, and presenting library programs for children, teens, and families. Other duties include working at the circulation desk, shelving, providing reader's advisory and reference assistance, and computer instruction. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential. Must demonstrate the ability to develop and present a pre-school age story time program. Must demonstrate the ability to alphabetize and understand the Dewey Classification system. Previous experience working with children in libraries required. Computer skills and experience with a library computerized circulation system are required. Physical requirements include the ability to bend and to lift weights of up to 40 pounds. OSU Libraries seeks a self-motivated individual to establish a robust research data management program at Oregon State University. Reporting to the Head of the Center for Digital Scholarship and Services, the Data Management Specialist plays a central role in developing services and data management plans in support of the OSU research enterprise. The position collaborates with faculty, graduate students, academic units and research center personnel to identify, manage, describe, preserve and make research data available to appropriate internal and external audiences. The Data Management Specialist assists faculty and graduate students with writing data management plans required by funding agencies such as the National Science Foundation. The position identifies and recommends appropriate methods for data storage and retrieval and instructs researchers in contributing to and using data repository systems including ScholarsArchive at OSU<mailto:ScholarsArchive at OSU>.
