The Oregon State Library (OSL) seeks to fill one permanent full-time position in Salem. This position manages the Government Research Services (GRS) Team of 19.84 FTE. This position is management service supervisory and is not represented by a union. The individual in this position is a part of the State's Management Team. The GRS Team programs are funded by an assessment from state agencies to provide information services for state employees. GRS positions work in a team-based environment, characterized by team responsibility for the details of job design, workflow, and quality control. GRS provides high quality information services to assist state employees in the efficient performance of their jobs and in more effective decision making for state government; and oversees the operations of the State Library's information technology services. GRS also provides general research assistance to citizens of Oregon in the use of the Oregon State Library's collections, which emphasize Oregon government and its publications.

Database Support part time contract position

The Sage Library System of Oregon is seeking qualified candidates for a database support contract position. Sage is a library consortium consisting of 75 multi-type libraries in 15 counties. The Sage Library System currently uses the open source ILS software Evergreen. The Database Support Contract amount is $11,000 and covers 780 hours of work from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013. Work hours are flexible but should consistently amount to 15 hours per week to allow for project continuity. The Systems Support Assistant Contract amount is $24,000 and covers 1200 hours of work from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2013, which averages to 23 hours per week. The Umatilla County Special Library District, a federated system with twelve city libraries, is seeking a professional Librarian with excellent management, judgment, and relationship building skills. The new District Coordinator will serve under the direction of a five member, elected District Board that is responsible for all District operations. Major responsibilities: marketing, planning, training; developing and monitoring the annual budget and services; supervise staff of three, oversee local and regional agreements, consult with city libraries, city library boards, city councils, local organizations and schools to improve services. Candidates must have an MLS degree with relevant public library administrative experience. Library District and strategic planning experience would be a plus. A valid driver's license and background check required. This is a full time position with a starting salary range of $60,000 - $65,000 DOE, plus benefits. Western Oregon University invites applications for the position of Project Archivist to work extensively with high-profile gubernatorial political papers located at three institutions for a one-year (12-month), grant-funded, full-time position. This position will report to the WOU Dean of Library and Media Services. A consortium of four public and private higher education libraries in the Willamette Valley (Portland State University in Portland, Pacific University in Forest Grove, Western Oregon University in Monmouth, and Willamette University in Salem) were awarded a Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA) grant to cooperatively process, preserve, and create finding aids relating to the non-official and personal papers of three Oregon governors since World War II: Robert W. Straub (Governor 1975-1979), located at Western Oregon University; Victor Atiyeh (Governor 1979-1987), located at Pacific University; and Barbara Roberts (Governor, 1991-1995), located at Portland State University. Review of applications will begin April 16, 2012 and will continue until the position is filled. Department: Library and Media Services. Salary: $44,000 (one-year, 12-month contract).
