Greetings all,

If you utilize the Historic Oregon Newspapers website (http://oregonnews.uoregon.edu/) or the Library of Congress and NEH's Chronicling America newspaper site (http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/) , there are some new podcasts and video tutorials available online with info about the Chronicling America site as well as tutorials on how to use the site's keyword search function. The same viewer software is used for both Chronicling America and Historic Oregon Newspapers, so these videos will be helpful for use of both sites.

"Using Chronicling America" podcast series:
11 podcasts about Chronicling America: http://www.ohiohistoryhost.org/ohiomemory/odnp/resources/podcasts

Keyword search tutorials:

* Any vs. All vs. Phrase Searching - S.S. Sultana Disaster<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9AlMLyLMNU&feature=youtu.be> (the worst maritime disaster in American history)

* Searching by a Specific Date - Death of Ray Chapman<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hql8eU72DHE&feature=youtu.be> (the only Major League Baseball player to die from being struck by a ball)

All videos were created by the National Digital Newspaper Program in Ohio at the Ohio Historical Society. Feel free to pass this information along to all interested parties.

Best,
