Do you provide class or assignment-specific library instruction?

Do you promote library resources to special interest constituencies?

If so, you might want to check out the subject-focused journal/magazine subcollections offered by Gale as part of the Oregon statewide contract.

Subsets of the larger Academic OneFile and General OneFile databases, these collections offer an opportunity to perform focused searches for magazine and journal articles in specific fields of interest. Some of the collections available include:

*         Criminal Justice Collection

*         Diversity Studies Collection

* Environmental Studies and Policy Collection

* Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Life & Issues Collection

* Gardening, Landscape and Horticulture Collection

*         Pop Culture Collection

*         Small Business Collection

*         War and Terrorism Collection

A complete list is available at the Statewide Database Licensing Program web site<http://www.oregon.gov/osl/LD/Pages/technology/sdlp/index.aspx#Current_Statewide_Databases>.

Direct URLs to these collections can be found at the Gale Support Portal for Oregon Public, Tribal, and K12 Libraries<http://galesupport.com/oregon/> or the Gale Support Portal for Oregon Academic Libraries<http://galesupport.com/oregonacad/>.

These collections also offer the Search Alert feature, which can be used to RSS content onto course specific web pages. After completing a search, just go to the Tools box and click on Create Search Alert link, and a RSS feed URL will be generated for you to use.

Please contact me if you need assistance in accessing these resources!
