The bat probably deposited itself.  Take a look at what bat houses look like:

There are lots of different designs, but most provide just a slot for the creature to enter the abode.

Yesterday, we found a jar of honey in the book drop.  Luckily, while it wasn’t sealed, the jar didn’t come open or break.   We obviously tossed it and thanked our lucky stars we weren’t trying to clean honey off a bin of books!

Today, we get a phone call:  “Did you find my jar of honey in the book return?”

Wow, why would you call about a half full jar of honey you had put in a library book return?
