Interim Reference and Instruction Librarian (2 positions)

Portland State University, a thriving public university based in downtown
Portland, Oregon, seeks two dynamic, experienced library professionals to
serve as interim reference and instruction librarians; one of the positions
has a primary focus on general education and the other on liaison
responsibilities with academic departments including Anthropology,
Environmental Sciences & Management, Geography, and Geology.

Interim Reference and Instruction Librarians provide reference and
information services for the University’s students and faculty; as well as
members of the general public; participate in a dynamic instructional
program, including classroom and online instruction; consult and
collaborate with scholars; and select information resources to support the
instructional and research needs of a diverse institution. Some evening and
weekend reference duty and/or instruction is required. Portland State
University non-tenure track faculty members contribute to faculty
governance activities within the Library and the University and engage in
research activities and professional service, as assigned. This full-time,
temporary, 12-month non-tenure track faculty position reports to the
Interim Assistant University Librarian for Public Services.
