Some evening and weekend reference duty and/or instruction is required. Temporary Reference/Instruction Librarian

The Clark Library at the University of Portland seeks a Temporary Reference/Instruction librarian to work for approximately 9 weeks at the start of fall semester. Key duties: Works as part of the reference team to provide research assistance to the campus community. Assists reference librarians to prepare for classes. Qualifications: MLS degree or equivalent from an ALA accredited program, knowledge of online and print reference sources, ability to effectively use technology, excellent oral communication skills, and the ability to interact positively with an academic population. Reference and instruction experience is preferred. Work Schedule: 4 hours per day Sunday through Thursday, 1:00 ¨C 5:00 pm at the beginning of the university¡¯s fall semester, anticipated employment dates are August 21st to October 23rd with the week of fall break off.
