NCES releases "Projections of Education Statistics to 2022" with data on enrollment, teachers, graduates, and expenditures

[2014051]Enrollment in elementary and secondary schools rose 5 percent between 1997 and 2011 and is projected to increase an additional 6 percent between 2011 and 2022. Projections of Education Statistics to 2022 provides national-level data on enrollment, teachers, high school graduates, and expenditures at the elementary and secondary level and enrollment and degrees at the postsecondary level for the past 15 years and projections to the year 2022. This is the 41st edition of a publication first initiated in 1964.

Other findings include:

* Postsecondary enrollment rose by 45 percent between 1997 and 2011, and is projected to increase another 14 percent by 2022.

* The number of high school graduates increased by 27 percent between 1997-98 and 2009-10, and a decrease of 2 percent is projected by 2022-23.

* After adjusting for inflation, current expenditure per pupil increased by 28 percent between 1997-98 and 2009-10, and a further increase of 18 percent is projected by 2022-23.
