I have attended many Progressive Library Guild events at ALA Conferences
and read their publication and Facebook page. They are great and work
outside the bureaucracy of ALA so have flexibility to do things that ALA
SRRT doesn't do because it is different to be within the bureaucracy and
outside the bureaucracy. Both groups are needed.

OLA SRRT can easily have conference programs at OLA conferences, use the
OLA website and Memberclicks for communication and easily report activities
to the OLA Board and work to get OLA Board backing on projects. OLA SRRT
also has small membership dues so that there is funding to do various
activities.

So, both great groups that may have much of the same membership but they
have some differences that are important to note and allow for different
kinds of activities.
