Most time will be spent checking in and shelving library materials. The hours offered will be between 12 and 16 hours a week, depending upon the successful candidate's availability. Starting pay will be at $9.99 per hour. No education or experience is required. But Spanish language skills and any experience or education in libraries are preferred. This full time position is responsible for central cataloging of non-fiction, audiobooks, DVDs, music CDs and other formats using the Evergreen cataloging module. Responsibilities also include working at the circulation desk, providing reader's advisory, reference assistance, computer instruction, committee activities and other dirty jobs. Requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Must have training or experience with Dewey Decimal System, and Marc records and be able to understand and apply AACR2 and RDA cataloging rules. Bachelor's degree is required. Demonstrated equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities will also be considered. MLS degree including coursework in library cataloging, and experience with Evergreen ILS system are preferred. $13.39/hr, 40 hours a week.
