The Hillsboro Public Library is pleased to offer this free training opportunity to the public and library staff.

Searching Oregon Digital Newspaper Program (ODNP) and Historic Oregon Newspapers online
The ODNP, based at the Univ. of Oregon Libraries, has been digitizing historic Oregon newspapers since 2009, making them keyword searchable and freely available to the public online at Historic Oregon Newspapers (http://oregonnews.uoregon.edu).

Sheila Rabun, Digital Project Manager at UO Libraries, will be giving a talk about the Program and how it works, including tips and tricks for searching newspaper content and using the Historic Oregon Newspapers website. Searching tips apply also to the Library of Congress' Chronicling America website (http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov), which uses the same software program.
