I agree that digitization of Pamplin papers would be a great service for our patrons, and I will support this effort in any way I can.

I'm noticing that none of the Pamplin Media group newspapers are on the list for the digitization of their papers. I'm thinking maybe those of us (there are about 20 or so) who have Pamplin as our local paper, could perhaps work together to get them to do it as a group, rather than deal with each editor/publisher who then would go to headquarters for permission anyway,

Thoughts? Perhaps we can talk at the Director's meeting next Friday.

Greetings Leah,

You are receiving this email because the NEWBERG PUBLIC LIBRARY has been a microfilm subscriber with the University of Oregon (UO) Libraries for the past several years. As you know, the UO Libraries are no longer microfilming Oregon newspapers published in 2015 and beyond, and we are switching to a digital program for preservation and access in collaboration with participating publishers. Please see a new update letter attached (2015-10-19_Subscribers.pdf), as well as our new web page for more information about the switch from microfilm to digital for current newspapers in Oregon: http://odnp.uoregon.edu/current-newspapers/

Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

Best,
Sheila
