Hi all,

The issue of why our library has chosen not to filter internet terminals has come up again. Our library does not receive e-rate funding and has never filtered at all. I'm putting together information for my board on the whys and wherefores of this decision. In the interest of due diligence, I would also like to give them a realistic idea of the costs involved in implementing, say, opt-in filtering on our public terminals.

If your library has implemented opt-in filtering, can you tell me a little bit about how this works, what software you use, and the costs involved? I would love to hear about any feedback you've received from your community as well.
