did anyone know when Margaret Auer joined the University of Detroit Mercy
(UDM) library in 1961–typing catalog cards to help pay for her tuition–that
she would eventually become the Director of Libraries, and then the Dean of
University Libraries/Instructional Design Studio and, finally, Dean of
University Libraries and Instructional Technology. After over 54 years of
service to UDM and 34 years as Dean, Margaret Auer retired on February 12,
