[Libs-Or] speaker about Vietnam

Well, not Oregon, but just across the border at Whitman College. David
Schmitz has been teaching classes on Vietnam for 20 or30 years, has had all
of the major authors on that war to his campus. he also teaches diplomatic
history, and I believe has a book out on exactly your topic. Here is his

By the way, he is an excellent speaker, can handle lay audiences as well as
specialized. And just to sweeten the pot re American Culture--David has a
lecture he does on the Whitman alum tour about the history of Rock ’n roll!

A ways away from Coos Bay-but maybe you could figure something out. Or at
least ask him. He’s our Vietnam guy in the Northwest.
