Measure - 20-272 - Fern Ridge Library District
QUESTION: Shall Fern Ridge Library District levy $0.35 per $1,000 assess value for operating purposes for five years beginning in 2017-2018? This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than three percent.
SUMMARY
Fern Ridge Library is asking voters to approve a new $0.35 Local Option Levy to replace the existing $0.25 levy which expires July 1, 2018.
It is estimated this levy would provide $301,215 in 2017-2018, $310,251 in 2018-2019, $319,559 in 2019-2020, $329,146 in 2020-2021, and $339,020 in 2021-22.

QUESTION:  Shall library district be formed with permanent rate limit of up to $0.39 per $1,000 of assessed value beginning 2017-2018?

If approved, the Josephine Community Library District would be formed as an independent, public library district, with a permanent rate dedicated to library services, programs, books materials, online resources, and outreach.

Measure 29-146 - Renewal of five year library operating local option levy- Tillamook County
QUESTION: Shall Tillamook County levy $0.65 per $1,000 of assessed value for County Library operations, beginning 07-01-2017 for five years?
SUMMARY: Since 1983 the library has been funded by operating levies. The levy amount will remain at $0.65 per $1,000 of assessed value and will be used to continue the operations of the County Library System. It is estimated the proposed rate will raise $2,870,000 in 2017/18; $2,956,100 in 2018/19; $3,044,783 in 2019/20; $3,136,126 in 2020/21; and $3,230,210 in 2021/22. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an estimate only based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of estimate and may reflect the impact of early payment discounts, compression and the collection rate. The County Library System includes the main library in Tillamook and five branch libraries. This tax rate will provide over 95% of the total revenue supporting the County Library System. All county libraries will have to close if an operating levy fails.
