Thanks for sharing that, Sue! It was a great article.

If anyone is looking for another chance to see Donna speak, we have an excellent one. We're very pleased to share that Donna Cohen will be presenting a session on "Misinformation and Political Propaganda" at OLA SSD 2017!

OLA SSD 2017 will be Friday July 28th 2017 at University of Oregon in Eugene. Registration will be opening this month, so look for another announcement soon but we wanted to make sure and share that you can hear from Donna and many other fantastic speakers.

For more details, check out our blog: http://ola-ssd.blogspot.com/ and Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/olasupportstaffdivision/ or you can contact the committee at olassdconference at gmail.com.

Thanks, and see you all at OLA SSD 2017!

Happy Friday!

Have you heard about librarian Donna Cohen's "civics engagement" workshops she conducts at public libraries around the state?

She continues to get rave reviews, and the press seems to be following her! Yesterday the Portland Tribune published a nice article about her most recent program at Lake Oswego Public Library:

>From Donna's website, www.civicthinker.net, you can find a flyer<http://www.civicthinker.net/Civics%20Workshop%20Resources/Flyer-Full-page-Misinformation-and-CitizenAdvocacy-April-June-2017.pdf> (attached here) listing upcoming "Citizen Activism" and "Misinformation and Propaganda" workshops (the latter which is offered at 3 different libraries in the next 10 days).

Keep in mind library programs are open to the public, and that includes us library workers...Knowledge is power, eh? :)
