Subject: Public Library Partners Wanted for "Leap Into Science"

Greetings,

(Please excuse the duplicate posting)

I apologize for the late notice - there will be an informational webinar this morning at 11:00a, I'm not sure if it will be archived or not; if so, I will pass on that information as well.

You can register for the informational webinar here: http://ngcproject.org/leap-into-science-network-project-informational-webinar (it's free, just fill out all the information requested). Please read on for more information!

The Franklin Institute Science Museum, the National Girls Collaborative Project, and the Institute for Learning Innovation are looking for libraries to partner with them to nationally disseminate science and literacy programming.

Leap into Science is a series of evidence-based curriculum and training resources that integrate open-ended science activities with children's books for children ages 3-10 and their families. The program is designed for community settings such as libraries, museums, and out-of-school time programs to engage underserved families in accessible and familiar settings.

Five states will be selected to take part in a 3-year curriculum training and statewide dissemination project. Two or three institutions per state are asked to apply as partners to disseminate the program in your state as a team. State team members will attend the National Leadership Institute at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia, PA on March 25-27, 2018.

The application deadline is December 11, 2017. More information regarding state leadership team expectations, timeline, and the curriculum is available at the Leap into Science webpage: https://www.fi.edu/leap.
