WMA CONFERENCE REGISTRATION SCHOLARSHIP FOR OREGON RESIDENTS

The Western Museums Association Registration Scholarship provides financial assistance for Oregon residents to attend the 2018 Western Museums Association Annual Meeting<http://www.westmuse.org/annual-meeting> in Tacoma, Washington on October 21-24. The theme of the 2018 Annual Meeting is INSPIRE, and will focus on the ways museums inspire action, change , and unity.  Scholarship funds will cover the cost of registration.

Scholarships will be offered on a first come, first served basis until the funds are expended. Scholarships will be offered to those actively involved in local preservation efforts and who demonstrate in their application how attendance will impact their work.

FINANCIAL INFORMATION: Awards will cover registration fees from are $200-$450.

BUDGET INFORMATION: The scholarship covers the cost of registration only. All other registration fees, such as pre-conference workshops and additional conference events, and lodging and meals are the responsibility of the attendee.

REPORTING AND PAYMENT: Awarded scholarships will be the subjects of binding agreements between the State and the applicants. Scholarship funds are dispersed on a reimbursable basis. Details of payment arrangements and reporting will be provided at the time of award.

SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE:

                Deadline - until the funds are expended or October 10, 2018, whichever occurs first
                Notification - A week after application is submitted
                Reporting Deadline - November 30, 2018

ELIGIBILITY:

  *   Must be Oregon residents at least 18 years of age.
  *   Must be active in local preservation efforts. This includes activities in historic preservation, archives, museums, Main Street, etc.
  *   Priority will be given to non-state employees.

CRITERIA:

  *   Explain how attendance at the WMA Annual Meeting will benefit the recipient.
