What does it take to be a good leader? Join the San José State University
School of Information as we explore the qualities and skills needed for
leadership positions in the information profession during a four-part
webcast series on A Day in the Life of a Leader. The webcasts are free to
attend and open to everyone.

The first webcast is scheduled for Friday, March 23, 2018, from 10 to 11
a.m. Pacific Time. Guest speakers Dana Vanzanten and Heather Robinson from
the St. Thomas Public Library in Ontario, Canada, will share their
perspectives on the most important responsibilities and attitudes for
leaders, as well as ways students can practice leadership skills while
they’re still in grad school, or early in their careers.

Having worked in libraries for more than 20 years, both speakers have
first-hand experience in paraprofessional and leadership roles. Currently,
Vanzanten is the manager of advocacy and community development, and Robinson
is chief executive officer.
