At the end of the day, operationalizing equity takes more than meetings, trainings, and workshops. It requires actual change.

How do organizations and their leaders take concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion and make them real? Where do they start? Who does what when? And what does "change" actually look like? We will identify practical ways to begin advancing equity on the people side of your organization, including your Boards, staff, clients, and volunteers. Come prepared to discuss what your organization has done, or is doing, to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in these areas, what has and has not worked, and lessons learned so far.

This is not a training about equity, per se, but a work session for organizations ready to begin making practical, concrete changes to operationalize equity. If your organization is ready to change, and not just talk, this workshop is for you.

This workshop is for staff and volunteer leaders who are ready and able to operationalize diversity, equity, and inclusion in your organization.

The workshop is presented by Thomas Bruner of Bruner Strategies. From CEO of a scrappy start up in Texas, to Vice President with the nation's largest humanitarian organization in Washington, D.C., to volunteer at a Buddhist temple in Portland, Oregon, Thomas Bruner has been helping businesses and organizations do great work for decades. Across the country, Bruner has successfully built and repaired complex organizations and foundations, mobilized communities to effectively respond to urgent issues and needs, and marshaled the resources of the public, private and social sectors.

A nationally-recognized leader, Bruner brings a wealth of experience to his work, including 25 years of executive-level organizational leadership, numerous awards and recognition, an impressive portfolio of civic volunteer engagement, a master's degree in Clinical Psychology, and a diversity management certificate from Cornell University.
