Dewey Decimal Classification: The Basics - Does this book on houseplants go in gardening (635.9) , botany (581.6), or interior decorating (747)? This is not a drill! For many librarians responsible for cataloging and classifying, this is a common scenario and dilemma when processing new materials. Whether you're new to this task or needing a refresher, a solid knowledge of the basics of Dewey Decimal Classification will help you feel more comfortable using this important tool.

This course consists of two two-hour sessions: Tuesday, February 18 & Thursday, February 20: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Central.

Register today at: https://www.amigos.org/node/6089.

Library of Congress Classification: The Basics - Would you like to learn more about the Library of Congress Classification system? Do you need some clarification on how number building works, or are you confused about Cutter numbers?
