Join the Cultural Center for the 10th annual celebration commemorating the legacy of Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr. this year, featuring keynote speaker Rev. Leroy Barber, community organizer, educator, author, and spiritual leader. We will be joined by musical guest, The Christopher Brown Quartet<https://chehalemculturalcenter.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a0a882e86c8054b6317a19c97&id=1a9070f160&e=f23058e203>, a Portland based Jazz Quartet lead by musician and educator Christopher Brown, and Newberg Ballet Folklorico, who will perform a traditional folk dance of Mexico.
This year, we are excited to be partnering with Oregon Humanities<https://chehalemculturalcenter.us1.list-manage.com/track/click?u=a0a882e86c8054b6317a19c97&id=f47074730e&e=f23058e203> Conversation Project to bring a series of breakout conversations on ideas and issues surrounding inclusivity, social justice, race, and leadership. The conversations are designed for adults and we will be offering kids art activities at the same time for families.

REV LEROY BARBER

Rev Leroy Barber has dedicated 30 years to eradicating poverty, confronting homelessness, restoring local neighborhoods, healing racism, and living what Dr. King called “the beloved community.” Leroy is currently the Developer of Congregational Vitality with Oregon-Idaho Conference of United Methodist Church. Leroy is the Co-Founder of the Voices Project and Adjunct professor at Kilns College and Multnomah University. Rev. Barber is on the boards of, The Simple Way, Missio Alliance, The Evangelical Environmental Network (EEN), and the Former Board Chair of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA).
