If you are someone who strives to provide excellent customer service, has strong communication skills, enjoys working in a team-oriented environment, and meets the minimum qualifications, then you may be the perfect fit for the Library Technician 2 (LT2) position at Oregon State University Libraries and Press.

The hourly wage for this union-supported position is limited to the range of $15.33 - $22.43. Typically, the starting salary is based on experience for this position, and is not negotiable outside of the noted range.

The minimum required qualifications are:

*         2 years of current library experience (within five years) OR Associates degree (or equivalent 72 quarter hours or 48 semester hours), and 1 year of current experience; OR An equivalent combination of current library experience, training and/or education in related fields. AND, proficiency in multiple library specific computer applications, e.g., integrated library systems, database applications, institutional repository; content management systems.

*         Demonstrated ability to work well with a diverse group of customers, patrons, and other staff and faculty members

*         Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service

*         Experience working with and troubleshooting technology

*         A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity

*         This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position-qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

There are two positions available.

These positions are in a fragrance free office/library environment with exposure to fluorescent lighting. You will be working with returned materials that may be damaged and could include, but are not limited to, dust, dirt, and on occasion, mold and pests. The work is physically demanding with constant standing, reaching, lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling book carts in addition to emptying materials from book drops. These positions require regular and frequent work at a computer station, sitting and/or standing, as well as walking throughout the library building or to departments across campus.
