Hello Oregon catalogers and technical services folks!
Registration is now open for the 2020 Oregon Library Association conference and pre-conferences<https://ola.memberclicks.net/index.php?option=com_mcform&view=ngforms&id=2029268#/>, including the pre-conference Explorations of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Cataloging. Please consider joining us for a full day of learning about, thinking about, talking about, and working on building capacity for equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) in cataloging work. Experienced catalogers will present on topics including gender in authority records, bias in subject headings, and how new controlled vocabularies can be used to surface the work of underrepresented groups in the catalog. There will be time to interact with fellow participants and to do hands-on work using the knowledge gained from presentations. There will also be a screening and discussion of the documentary Change the Subject<https://sites.dartmouth.edu/changethesubject/>.
This pre-conference is sponsored by the Technical Services Round Table<https://www.olaweb.org/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=322> (TSRT). If you have questions about it or any of our other conference programs, feel free to get in touch.
See you in April!
